It exists to teach students, as many as possible. <br/><br/>There are too many universities in Scotland and a rationalisation is on the horizon, forced by govt or voluntary, it will happen. QM is likely to disappear, either into a combination or it will just close or downsize to an FE college again. Anything coming out of there with 'research' on it should always be taken with a very large pinch of salt. If it isn't bottom ranked in Scotland it isn't far off.
