The latest studyette of the effects of coffee on the risk of getting Type 2 diabetes is interesting in that they saw a greater effect from decaffeinated coffee. As someone who has recently managed to kick a an over 20year caffeine addiction I generally regard decaff as a drink that rather misses the point.

I'l wait until they have isolated the active ingredient(s) and tested them in double blind case controlled studies first before I reach for the free sachets of decaff that litter the hot libations cupboard in case of silly visitors.

Besides, I run up to 55 miles per week, so I doubt I'm much at risk of insulin resistance.
